Air Source Heat Pumps
Converts the outside air temperature and energy into heat, giving more comfortable
temperature inside the home and reducing
heating costs by on an average 50%
compared to traditional systems. Exhaust Air Heat Pumps provide hygienic air inside the home, whilst capturing heat energy from lightning, people and domestic appliances, and recycling it.
Where can they be used?
Air source heat pumps are ideal for use where it is not possible to drill a borehole or lay surface absorbers for ground source
heat pump. Used to complement more traditional heating systems they typically deliver up to 80% of the space heating
and hot water requirements for a building, while the traditional system delivers the balance on the coldest days or during
peak demand. They can be used with underfloor heating systems and raditors. An additional back-up heating system will be required.
What are the key benfits?
-
Can reduce your comsuption
for heating by 50% - Very energy efficient
-
Possible to extract considerable
energy for the air at temperatures
as low as -15°C -
Cheaper and easier to install
than ground source heat links
